Motor City native Tamara Warren is a New York based writer and editor.      She has contributed several essays to books including Definition: the Art & Design of Hip Hop (Random House 2008), Drive Thru (2004) about Detroit produced by the Carharrt Corporation and the Japanese book No War about antiwar movements in the U.S. (2003). Tamara is the co-founder and editor of the car and culture blog Gotryke.com. She has researched and written extensively about being the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, and is developing a documentary about her findings.

     In her coverage, Tamara has profiled some of the most provocative cultural figures of the era including Tim Russert, Francis Ford Coppola, Wynton Marsalis, John Mellencamp, Terry Bradshaw, Yoko Ono, Missy Elliott, Duke Fakir of the Four Tops, Gary Sheffield, the Funk Brothers, 50 Cent, TI, designer Anna Sui, Erykah Badu, Michael Strahan, artist Shepard Fairey, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, Pam Shriver, Busta Rhymes, Benji and Joel Madden, Motown choreographer Cholly Atkins, Akon, drag racer Ashley Force, Henrik Fisker and Anita Baker.      Over the past decade, she has covered music, pop culture, sports and fitness, social issues, cars and design. She is an active member of the automotive press corps, test driving products and exploring the art of cars. She is a member of the Author's Guild, the International Motor Press Association and a jurist for the Annual Lifestyle Vehicle of the year. Tamara holds a Bachelor of Arts from James Madison College at Michigan State University.
